A boutique firm based in Los Angeles, California, Klear Public Relations, Inc., was founded by veteran members of the entertainment industry to offer innovative, specialized publicity and marketing services to the entertainment, corporate, fashion and lifestyle industries. We pride ourselves on the close and productive relationships we form with each of our clients and the attention we bring to their individual needs and goals. Our diverse and extensive experience, cultivated from the worlds of international and domestic television, film, fashion, lifestyle and technology, allows us to bring fresh, creative ideas to the table and to develop and execute distinctive and successful campaigns for both mass market and specialty audiences. About our founders:
Laura Gallagher
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Laura Gallagher moved to Los Angeles to pursue her longtime dream of working in daytime television. Laura began as the Casting/Publicity Assistant on Aaron Spelling’s daytime drama Sunset Beach. After a brief period in both capacities, she discovered her passion for publicity and chose to pursue it as a career. In 1999, Laura went to work for Shandrew Public Relations, a boutique publicity firm, before being wooed to join the Paramount International Television Publicity team. Two years into her career with Paramount, she was promoted Director of International Publicity, responsible for managing all Spelling, Viacom and Paramount series in the international marketplace.
Accumulating fourteen successive years experience in the entertainment publicity arena, Laura chose to return to freelance publicity before creating Klear Public Relations in January 2005 with colleague Kimberly Weiss. As Klear PR, Laura, and Kimberly have built a successful public relations firm with corporate accounts including CBS Paramount International and Lionsgate International Television. On the personal publicity side, Klear PR has handled up-and-coming talent including Ion Overman, Christina Chambers and Scout Taylor-Compton. Klear PR has also worked on various projects including the 15th Annual MusiCares Person of the Year tribute to Brian Wilson, upscale events for the Fairchild/Conde Nast Bridal Group and the critically acclaimed Smithsonian Institute film A Thousand Roads, which was showcased at Sundance, 2005. Laura attended Columbia College in Chicago majoring in television production.
Laura currently resides in Burbank with her husband and two daughters.
Kimberly Weiss
A graduate of Stanford University with a BA in International Relations, Kimberly launched into the Silicon Valley high technology PR scene as an Account Executive at Edelman Public Relations Worldwide and then Alexander Ogilvy Public Relations. She eventually moved to the in-house Marketing Department of Ariba, Inc. As a PR Specialist with Ariba, Kimberly worked directly with top-level corporate executives to promote the company in the domestic and international markets through press exposure, speaking opportunities and corporate-sponsored events.
After moving back to her native Los Angeles, Kimberly came on board as a Publicist with the International Marketing Department of Paramount International Television. Following her tenure at Paramount, she worked as a freelance publicist, and was responsible for such campaigns as the launch of high-end denim line True Religion Brand Jeans, three designer fashion shows for Los Angeles Fashion Week, LA Screenings activities for Paramount International Television and the personal publicity for various television and film talent. In 2005, Kimberly opened the doors of Klear Public Relations, Inc., with her friend and colleague Laura Gallagher.
In addition to her work as a publicist, Kimberly is an accomplished freelance graphic designer and fine artist. Her work has been seen during LA Fashion Week, major media events and in promotional materials for Los Angeles-based musical groups. She is also an avid nature-lover and during much of her free time can be found (or not found!) trekking through the Sierra Nevadas and Rockies or roaming the country with her husband and daughter.
